FULL SCALE DOMESTIC RENOVATION PROJECT IN APPLEDORE
Sid Little Scaffolding delivered a substantial scaffolding installation for the full renovation of a large home in Appledore, North Devon.
Set in an exposed coastal location, the secluded property required a carefully engineered scaffolding solution capable of supporting a major external refurbishment programme while withstanding challenging weather conditions from the nearby coastline. The scaffold was designed to provide safe access across all elevations of the property for roofing works, external restoration, window repairs, masonry works, and repainting.

Over 18 tonnes of ballast weights to protect the scaffolding against the coastal winds.
Due to the scale and complexity of the project, the installation required approximately 15 lorry loads and utilised an estimated 150 tonnes of scaffolding equipment. The structure was erected across five working levels, creating extensive access around the entire property and allowing multiple trades to work safely and efficiently at the same time. Extensive scaffolding designs were followed, as pictured left.
To protect both the workforce and the building during the renovation, the scaffold was fully sheeted externally and secured using approximately 18 tonnes of ballast weighting to provide additional stability against high coastal winds. The project demanded careful planning, experienced scaffold design, and ongoing site management to ensure the structure remained secure throughout all phases of the works.
